FIDAMC has a laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment to carry out the study, analysis and characterization of polymers and composites. The activities of the laboratory are oriented to projects in various industrial fields, such as aeronautics, wind, naval and railway, and framed within national and international research projects.
The laboratory is divided into three specific areas:
Physical-Chemical Laboratory: equipped with characterization techniques to evaluate and analyze thermal, dynamic-mechanical, viscoelastic, electrical properties and microscopy analysis of polymers and composites. It also has an infrared spectroscopy equipment and climatic chambers for tests of hydrothermal aging.
Mechanical Laboratory: it has test machines with capacity to perform static and dynamic tests both at room temperature and at high and low temperature.
Area of preparation and machining of test specimens: FIDAMC has cutting machines and grinding equipment to perform the machining of specimens of composite material.
