This innovation not only focuses on integrating new resins or creating new prototypes, but also includes the use of quantum technologies both in industrial processes and in the useful life of the prototypes and demonstrators manufactured. On the occasion of the \u2018World Quantum Day\u2019, celebrated on 14 April, and coinciding with the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, we present below different initiatives of Fidamc where composite materials and quantum technologies are combined.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quantum computing for digital twins in composite manufacturing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In previous projects, Fidamc has tried to create digital twins that would allow it to improve its manufacturing processes in order to achieve better and more efficient results. However, during manufacturing, the amount of data that can be extracted is immense and the computational speed is not high enough to obtain a satisfactory result, as it can take days and weeks. Now, quantum computing opens a way to develop these advanced digital twins, developing virtual models that enable real-time simulation and analysis of production processes, facilitating early detection of defects and optimising operational efficiency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this way, it is expected to improve the quality of the final result by reducing waste and contributing to more sustainable production.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Structural health monitoring with quantum sensors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the field of structural health monitoring (SHM), Fidamc is incorporating advanced sensors into composite structures, enabling real-time damage detection and analysis, improving safety and extending component life. The implementation of these technologies represents a significant advance in the aerospace industry and other sectors that rely on high-performance composite materials. The replacement of conventional sensors with quantum sensors results in much more accurate data collection which, coupled with the quantum computing mentioned above, results in systems of much higher quality and efficiency than today's systems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thus, high quality information will be obtained from composite materials, promoting both their lifetime and their continuous improvement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quantum communications for the coordination of autonomous devices<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The current technology trend calls for connectivity of various devices of different nature such as ground vehicles and drones. To follow this trend, Fidamc needs to know how the different platforms it manufactures (the variety of which is also increasing) can communicate. The answer lies in quantum technology. Quantum communications between autonomous devices such as drone swarms and ground and airborne platforms excel in dual applications, offering high quality communications and a very high level of security.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In its commitment to innovation, Fidamc promotes several initiatives and collaborations involving quantum technologies. These initiatives not only improve efficiency and safety in the manufacturing and monitoring of composite materials, but also open up new opportunities in sectors such as aerospace, defence and energy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With these actions, Fidamc consolidates its position as a benchmark in research, development and applications in composite materials, promoting the understanding and adoption of quantum science and technology in the global industrial landscape.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Signed: Andr\u00e9s Puerto.
