In the search of technologies for the composite final quality improvement, Project ZAero consists in the early detection of defectology thanks to the installation of in line quality control system. These systems are divided into Lay-up sensors, for defect detection during lay-up stage, and curing sensors, for identification of resin flow or cure cycle deviations.

This project is has received funding from the European union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the Grant Agreement No:721362. Profactor is the coordinator of the project, being Airbus Defense and Space GmbH, Dassault Systemes SE, MTorres diseños industriales SA, IK4-IDEKO S Coop, Danobat S Coop, and FIDAMC, the partners.

During the past month of January it was performed the successful update of AFP (Automated Fiber Placement) machine in FIDAMC facilities by the installation of lay-up sensors thanks to the Profactor and Mtorres staff support. The trials performed consisted in the lay-up of flat panels with controlled defectology together with the calibration of the sensors in order to guarantee the correct detection of such defects.
