On 22 September at 11:00 a.m., the Advanced Manufacturing Centre (CFA) in Cadiz will be officially inaugurated. This strategic project by the Regional Government of Andalusia represents an investment of more than €18 million, co-financed by ERDF funds. The event will be attended by prominent political and business figures from the community and will be presided over by the President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Mr Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla.

Located in Puerto Real (Cádiz), the CFA will open its doors with 1,700 m² of facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, designed to become a meeting point for universities, technology centres and companies. Its objective is clear: to respond to the technological challenges of the future and contribute to improving the competitiveness of companies through innovation and technology transfer.

Cuatro áreas estratégicas

The centre is organised into four strategic areas: additive manufacturing, metrology and digitisation, robotics and drones. These technologies will be applied in sectors as diverse as naval, aeronautics and space, biomedical, automotive, construction and infrastructure, and renewable energy, promoting more sustainable, efficient and competitive solutions.

The technical management of the CFA has been entrusted to Fidamc, a centre of excellence in R&D&I in composite materials with more than 20 years of experience. Its experience with large companies such as Airbus, Navantia, Talgo and Acciona ensures that the CFA will be launched with a multi-sector approach, focused on the real transfer of knowledge and the promotion of talent.

The launch of the CFA comes at a time when Andalusian industry is gaining ground year after year. Although the service sector continues to dominate GDP, the latest data is revealing: in 2024, turnover in the industrial sector grew by 6.9%, exports exceeded €40 billion, and manufacturing advanced by 2.7%.

With its imminent inauguration, the CFA in Cadiz is preparing to become a benchmark for innovation and collaboration, a driver of talent and economic development that will enable Andalusia to make a qualitative leap in its industrial and technological position.
