The Director General of the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), José Moisés Martín Carretero, visited the FIDAMC facilities yesterday to learn first-hand about its strategic lines, technological capabilities and most innovative projects in the field of advanced manufacturing.

During the meeting, the Fidamc management team presented the main areas of activity of the centre, which has established itself as a national and international benchmark in the development and industrial application of composite materials, robotic automation, additive manufacturing and thermoplastic technologies.. With more than 100 specialised professionals and 9,000 m² of facilities, Fidamc combines research, prototyping and full-scale industrialisation, driving the transition towards a more efficient and sustainable industry.

The visit allowed the director of the CDTI to see the centre's state-of-the-art infrastructure, including automated fibre placement (AFP) systems, curing and consolidation lines, the ISO 17025 and NADCAP accredited laboratory and the spaces dedicated to training and 3D printing. In addition, strategic projects in the aeronautics, defence, space, energy and mobility sectors were presented, with a special emphasis on technologies related to hydrogen, low electromagnetic observability and the recyclability of composite materials (CFRP Recycling & Reuse).

Fidamc shared its strategic growth plan

FIDAMC also shared its strategic growth plan, focused on technological and sectoral diversification, geographical expansion—with offices in Madrid, Illescas and Cadiz—and strengthening its leadership in the field of applied R&D. In this regard, the centre has doubled its number of projects since 2020 and has significantly increased its participation in competitive public funding programmes, both national and European, strengthening its capacity to generate its own knowledge and intellectual property.

During the event, the importance of public-private collaboration for technological development and industrial competitiveness in Spain was highlighted. The visit concluded with a tour of the main areas of work and a discussion on opportunities for collaboration between the CDTI and FIDAMC within the framework of technological innovation programmes.
