Fidamc, an R&D and training centre for composite materials, and the Harbin Manufacturing Center (HMC) of Airbus, a leading aerospace manufacturing centre specialising in advanced composite structures, have signed a collaboration agreement to establish a partnership in which Fidamc will support HMC in manufacturing engineering and act as an industrial partner for selected work packages.
The collaboration will focus on the following key areas:
- Manufacturing Engineering Support: Fidamc will provide expertise in composite manufacturing processes, tooling development, process optimization, and automation to enhance HMC’s capabilities in the production of aerospace composite structures.
- Industrial Partnership: Fidamc will act as an industrial partner for selected work packages, contributing to the production, testing, and qualification of aerospace components.
- Technology Development: Both parties will explore joint technology development opportunities to advance state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques, including digitalization and sustainability-focused initiatives.
- Knowledge Transfer & Training: Fidamc will support HMC in upskilling its workforce by providing training programs and workshops on cutting-edge composite manufacturing technologies.
- Sustainability & Efficiency Initiatives: Joint efforts will be made to improve sustainability in manufacturing processes by reducing material waste, increasing energy efficiency, and developing eco-friendly composite solutions.
In short, this is a strategic partnership between HMC and Fidamc, with the aim of fostering innovation, improving manufacturing efficiency and strengthening industrial capabilities in aerospace composites manufacturing.
