Fidamc has participated in MATCOMP 2025, the National Congress on Composite Materials held in Barcelona from 8 to 10 July and organised by AEMAC and CIMNE. This biennial event has established itself as the event of reference in Spain for professionals, researchers and companies in the composite materials sector, offering a privileged space to share knowledge, experiences and technological advances.

During the three days of the congress, Fidamc has had a prominent presence in different areas. Firstly, our stand (no. 03), located in the Auditorium Hall, was a meeting point for professionals from the sector interested in learning about our main lines of work, as well as the technological solutions we are developing in the areas of sustainability, advanced manufacturing processes and the digitalisation of composite materials..

In addition, we have actively contributed to the technical programme of the congress with several presentations given by our researchers. These interventions have addressed key topics such as the development of lightning protection systems in thermoplastic composites, the fabrication of structures by conduction and induction welding, the functional printing of circuits for structural monitoring systems (SHM), and the reuse of uncured pre-preg waste by calendering processes.

These presentations reflected both the strength of our technical capabilities and our commitment to applied research and collaboration with other players in the industrial ecosystem.

Railway and aeronautical demonstrators

One of the highlights of our participation was the presentation of two innovative demonstrators that tangibly illustrate our approach to sustainability and real applicability in strategic sectors such as rail and aeronautics:

  • High-performance train door: a lightweight and efficient solution combining structural performance with thermal and acoustic insulation. This demonstrator proposes more sustainable construction configurations for future applications in high-speed, metro and commuter trains.
  • Leading-Edge Rib Demo: developed by Fidamc as part of the European MC4 project, this aircraft leading edge component has been manufactured entirely from recycled material (multiaxial prepreg remnants), demonstrating that it is possible to reuse industrial waste without compromising mechanical properties.

Our participation in MATCOMP 2025 has reaffirmed Fidamc's role as a key player in the innovation of composite materials in Spain. We continue to work towards a more sustainable and efficient future for the composites industry.
