Fidamc will participate in MATCOMP 2025, National Congress on Composite Materials, which will take place from July 8 to 10 in Barcelona, organized by AEMAC and CIMNE. This biennial event has established itself as the main national meeting forum for professionals, researchers and companies in the composite materials sector, bringing together the main academic and industrial players in the country to share the latest technological advances, success stories and future lines.

You will find us throughout the event at booth 03, located in the Auditorium Hall, where our team will be happy to share our latest research, technological solutions and lines of work in development. In addition, we will actively participate in the technical program of the congress with several presentations given by our researchers, who will address key topics such as sustainability, functional printing and joining processes in composite materials thermoplastics.

Some of our presentations at MATCOMP 2025

The following are some of the presentations to be given by members of the Fidamc team.

Vanessa García

Tuesday, July 8
Approximately at 11:45 h
Block: New Materials (D1P1E) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Title: Innovative lightning protection system for carbon fiber and thermoplastic matrix composites
Authors: Vanessa García Martínez, Antonio Gonçalves Santos, Margarita Barrio Arenas, María Rodríguez Gude, Oscar Rodríguez de la Fuente.
Abstract: We will explain the PVD growth of thin copper layers on different types of substrates that could be used as new lightning protection systems in carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic matrix composites.

Lorena Moreno

Tuesday, July 8
Approximately at 15:45 h
Block D1P2C - Production Processes (15:15-16:15)
Title: Integration of thermoplastic composite structures by conduction welding
Authors: L. Moreno Fernández-Cañadas, J. Ávila García , I. Martín Hernando , K. Fernández Horcajo , A. Almenara Yébenes , E. Rodríguez Gajate , D. Gómez Berrio
Abstract: We will explain the development of the conduction welding technology carried out by Fidamc as a method of integration of thermoplastic composite structural components as part of the activities carried out within the framework of the NEOTAIL project “New Optimized Empennage with Advanced Technologies for Laminarity Integration”. This is a project funded by CDTI through the CIEN program in which ACITURRI has led one of the work packages collaborating in its development with Airbus.

Tasdeeq Rahim Sofi

Tuesday, July 8
15:45 - 16:00 h
Room A4
Title: Development and Evaluation of Lightweight 3D-Printed Conductive Circuits for SHM in Composites
Abstract: The paper will explore lightweight and efficient alternatives to traditional copper wiring in structural monitoring systems (SHM). 3D-printed circuits using silver-based conductive inks and carbon nanoparticle doped epoxies are analyzed, comparing their printability, conductivity and durability for integration into composite structures.

Javier Ávila García

Tuesday, July 8
Approximately at 16:00 h
Block D1P2C - Production Processes (15:15-16:15)
Title: Integration of Thermoplastic Composite Structures by Induction Welding
Authors: J. Ávila, D. Cuadrillero, L. Moreno, I. Martín, J. Sánchez
Abstract: This paper will present the development of a process for joining thermoplastic composite structures by induction welding. This technology allows the efficient and robust joining of components, offering advantages in cycle time and automation over traditional methods.

María Ariño Palacín

Wednesday, July 9
Approximately at 12:00 h
Block D2P2B - Recycling and Sustainability (11:30-13:00)
Title: Development of calendering technology for the reuse of uncured multiaxial pre-preg waste from the aeronautical sector
Authors: M. Ariño Palacín, C. García, Á. Calero
Abstract: In this presentation, the development of a reused material from uncured pre-preg waste generated in the aeronautical industry will be presented. By means of the calendering process, it has been possible to give a second useful life to these wastes, applying them to semi-structural components such as aircraft leading edge ribs.

Our participation in MATCOMP 2025 reflects Fidamc's commitment to innovation, sustainability and knowledge transfer in the field of composite materials. If you are attending the congress, do not hesitate to come to our booth to learn first-hand about our lines of work and collaborate in future developments.
