Fidamc is one of the participants in the ECO-AERO project, a pioneering initiative aimed at creating a trans-regional, efficient, open, inclusive and interconnected aerospace innovation ecosystem. This project, recently approved and funded by the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), is part of the first call for “Innovation Ecosystems”, based on the Cervera Networks of Excellence.
The main objective of ECO-AERO is to promote cooperation and the creation of synergies between companies, clusters and technology centers to strengthen the aerospace supply chain and ensure the global competitiveness of this strategic sector for Spain. ECO-AERO is not only the only project of its kind in our country, but also positions itself as a benchmark for innovation in key technologies such as additive manufacturing, advanced materials, applied artificial intelligence and robotics in intelligent manufacturing.
In this context, Fidamc will play a crucial role as a technology center and knowledge generator linked to the aerospace sector in the Madrid region. Our mission within the project will focus on contributing to the development and consolidation of a robust and sustainable aerospace ecosystem, aligned with the needs of the industry both nationally and internationally.
ECO-AERO: a shared vision for the future
With a duration of 22 months and a total budget of 1.112.994€, the ECO-AERO project has been designed to address three main strategic activities:
- 1.Fostering ecosystem collaboration and providing specialized services
In this first activity, Fidamc will work together with the other actors involved to facilitate collaboration between companies, clusters and technology centers. Through the channeling of specialized services, the aim is to generate a dynamic environment conducive to innovation, where companies can access resources and knowledge that will enable them to scale their competitiveness and strengthen their position in the global market.
- 2. Commercialization and expansion of the ecosystem
The second project activity will focus on expanding the innovation ecosystem through the commercialization of technologies and solutions developed under the project. The focus here will be on ensuring that the technologies developed reach the market, boosting the competitiveness of the Spanish aerospace sector and enhancing its capacity to generate advanced solutions for current and future industry challenges.
- 3. Enhancing ecosystem capabilities
In the third and final activity, where we will be particularly involved, ECO-AERO will focus on maximizing the capabilities of the ecosystem, optimizing the use of robotic technologies, advanced materials and innovative surfaces for the aerospace sector. Sustainability and digitalization will be key pillars at this stage, with the aim of promoting green aviation and advancing the development of manned and unmanned systems for NewSpace and other areas of innovative aerospace propulsion. One example will be the workshops at Cervera Technologies for the promotion of scientific-technical vocations aimed at the educational sector. In order to foster talent and skilled profiles for new aeronautical development programs, it will focus on the organization of training and demonstration activities that highlight the potential of Cervera Technologies to inspire and foster scientific-technological vocations to youth, entrepreneurs, as well as society.
As part of this ambitious consortium that includes key industry players such as CATEC, AIRBUS, Andalucía Aerospace, ASIME, HEGAN, TEDAE and TEKNIKER, Fidamc reinforces its commitment to research, development and innovation. Our participation in ECO-AERO is an opportunity to continue promoting disruptive technologies that position Spain as a leader in the aerospace field at an international level, contributing to a more sustainable, digital and competitive future.
