CEAD, a leading innovator in large-format additive manufacturing technology, and Fidamc, R&D&I and training centre in composite materials, have announced a strategic collaboration agreement aimed at driving the adoption of additive manufacturing technology in Spain. This partnership seeks to enhance applications in key sectors such as naval and aeronautics, leveraging the strengths of both organizations to foster innovation and expand the use of this transformative technology.
A commitment to innovation and technology development
Through this agreement, CEAD and Fidamc will collaborate on research and development (R&D) initiatives focused on integrating additive manufacturing technology into strategic industries. Their joint efforts will cover process monitoring, the creation of digital twins, overprinting on composites, and the design of high-performance molds for aeronautical applications.
Key areas of collaboration
- CEAD Day and Technology Promotion: A series of events will be organized to showcase CEAD’s large-format additive manufacturing equipment, demonstrating its capabilities with a special focus on naval applications. These events will take place at FIDAMC’s CFA Center in Cádiz, featuring case studies and experiences in polymeric and composite materials.
- Technology Development: The partnership will focus on integrating additive manufacturing into the naval sector, advancing process monitoring and control through sensor technologies such as thermography and vision, and developing digital twins to ensure the highest quality standards. Additionally, both entities will work together on the design and production of high-performance, cost-effective molds for aeronautical projects.
- Joint European Funding Calls: CEAD and FIDAMC will seek funding opportunities from European R&D&I programs, such as Horizon Europe, to support their innovation efforts and further drive the development of additive manufacturing technology.
By joining forces, CEAD and Fidamc aim to position Spain at the forefront of additive manufacturing innovation, strengthening its competitiveness in critical industries and contributing to the advancement of European technological leadership.
