The Aerospace Thermoplastics International Summit closed with a speech by Ernesto González Durán, CEO of Fidamc, in which he conveyed a clear idea: the future of the aerospace industry will be exponential, sustainable and collaborative.

González began his speech by thanking the participants for staying until the end of an intense day of debate and innovation. He recalled that, when preparing the event, the objective was clear: "to move from strategy to action", that is, to turn planning into tangible results.

The CEO of Fidamc emphasised that the aerospace sector is undergoing a period of exponential change, driven by technology, new materials and the urgent need for sustainable development. "Human behaviour is, by nature, linear. But today, our sectors are asking us to move towards the exponential."

Another of the most powerful messages at the close was the statement that "thermoplastics are no longer a promise, they are a reality in motion."
For González Durán, thermoplastic materials represent the cornerstone of a new era in industry: lighter, more efficient and more sustainable.

In this regard, he highlighted the Thermoplastics Hub project in Cadiz, promoted by Fidamc and its partners, as a key point in Europe for the industrialisation of these technologies. This centre will operate in the TRL 3 to TRL 6 range, the space where ideas become validated processes ready for real-world application.

He also insisted that this hub does not seek to duplicate efforts, but rather to complement existing capabilities in Europe and around the world.
He cited examples such as the advances made by engineers in Madrid, the work of the TPRC in the Netherlands, and new initiatives emerging in the United States. "Together, these centres will form a global innovation network with a common goal: to make thermoplastics the basis for sustainable airspace."

He closed his speech with another key idea: the real driver of progress is not the speed of technology, but the strength of the community that drives it. "Today we have shown that our community is strong, open and ready to collaborate, innovate and deliver."

The executive thanked translators, sponsors, moderators and the organising team for making the meeting possible, reaffirming his conviction that collaboration between Madrid, Europe and the world will be key to consolidating a more sustainable aerospace industry.
