Fidamc once again took part in JEC World 2026, the leading international event for the composites industry, held from 10 to 12 March in Paris.

This year’s event was particularly significant for the centre, not only because of its technological contributions and busy schedule of meetings, but also because it marked the start of its 20th-anniversary celebrations, a milestone that highlights two decades of driving innovation in advanced manufacturing and composite materials.

A showcase for Fidamc’s technological capabilities

Over the three days of the trade fair, the Fidamc team welcomed numerous partners, companies and industry representatives to their stand, where they showcased their capabilities and latest technological developments.

Key areas highlighted included:

  • Development of advanced materials, including thermoset and thermoplastic composites.
  • Additive manufacturing, with a particular focus on the capabilities developed at the Cádiz Advanced Manufacturing Centre.
  • Robotics, digitalisation and automation, key technologies for driving more efficient and industrialised aeronautical production systems.
  • Agile prototyping and short-run aeronautical production, including flight-ready components.
  • Specialised services, such as consultancy in the design and manufacture of composites, laboratory capabilities and the new Fidamc TechLab Academy training programme..

In addition, projects and developments applied to various strategic sectors were showcased, including aviation, defence, space, naval, biotechnology, rail, renewable energy and sport, reflecting the growing cross-sectoral nature of the technologies developed by the centre.

The Fidamc team also explained to visitors that it is one of the participants in the Herwingt project, a pioneering initiative that is redefining wing design for hybrid-electric aircraft. The Herwingt project not only seeks to improve the performance and efficiency of future aircraft, but also to transform the aeronautical manufacturing process, making it faster, cleaner and more sustainable.

A meeting place for the sector’s key players

Beyond the technology exhibition, JEC World once again established itself as a key forum for knowledge exchange and the creation of new opportunities for collaboration.

During the event, the FIDAMC team held meetings with leading international companies in the aerospace and industrial sectors, including Boeing, Safran, Turkish Aerospace Industries, Airbus Atlantic, Airbus Cádiz, ADD composites, Aimen, Airborne Profactor, Coexpair, Toho, IRT SE, IDEC, Comppair, KAL, PINETTE PEI, Embraer, CTC, Hexcel, Toray, Agenor, Aernnova, FACC,  Profactor, Xelis, INEGI, Diehl, HUB Americano, Newtryglobal, RcF technologies, Noma, Aritex, Titania, Quin Global, Danobat y PROSIX- RESOLTECH, with whom potential avenues for collaboration were explored in areas such as advanced manufacturing, process digitalisation and the development of new technologies for the next generation of aircraft.

Furthermore, the FIDAMC stand hosted themed events aimed at fostering dialogue with the industry, such as Space Hour and Airbus Hour, which served as forums for sharing ideas, analysing technological trends and strengthening cooperation with strategic partners.

Strategic partnership with OBUU for the development of digital technologies

One of the highlights of FIDAMC’s participation in JEC World 2026 was the signing of an agreement with OBUU, a company specializing in the development of advanced digital solutions.

This agreement establishes a framework for collaboration to drive the joint development of digital technologies applied to industry, with a particular focus on:

  • Development of advanced industrial software
  • Application of artificial intelligence and data analysis
  • Advanced simulation and structural analysis
  • Optimization of manufacturing and logistics processes

The collaboration will combine FIDAMC’s capabilities in advanced manufacturing and composite materials with OBUU’s expertise in digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and software development, with the aim of developing innovative solutions that improve the efficiency, traceability, and sustainability of industrial processes.

Furthermore, both organizations will explore opportunities for the joint commercialization of the developed solutions and participation in national, European, and international funding programs to accelerate their development and industrial implementation.

Participation in JEC World 2026 has reinforced Fidamc’s position as one of Europe’s leading centers for composite materials, advanced manufacturing, and industrial digitalization.

In a particularly symbolic year for the organization, marked by the celebration of its 20th anniversary, the event has served to strengthen strategic partnerships, generate new opportunities for collaboration, and continue to advance the development of technologies that will shape the future of aviation and the industry.
